The essentials every payslip needs
- Employer name and employee name, staff ID and SSNIT number
- Pay period and payment date
- Basic salary and each allowance, itemised
- Gross pay
- Employee SSNIT (5.5%) shown separately
- PAYE for the month
- Any other deductions (Tier 3, loans, insurance) itemised
- Net pay, and the payment method/reference
Why itemisation matters
A payslip is the employee’s evidence of tax paid and pension contributed. When SSNIT or GRA records ever disagree, the itemised payslip is what resolves it. Lumping “deductions” into one line helps no one and invites disputes.
Using this template
Every payslip Nobicel generates follows this structure automatically, as a PDF employees can download from their own portal. If you run payroll manually for now, mirror the fields above in your spreadsheet — future you (and your accountant) will be grateful.
